Bulimia SupportBulimia support is available in a number of different venues with a residential bulimic center being the most effective. Before reviewing the benefits of residential bulimia centers let us review other bulimia support. Bulimia support is available as no cost within self help bulimia support groups. These bulimia support groups are wonderful and supportive to maintain a person’s recovery, but after they have completed a residential bulimia center. Unfortunately they do not provide medical or psychiatric services, clinical or support services. These types of services, along with 24 hour support, are only available in a residential bulimia center. Bulimia support can also be found in an outpatient setting and while they provide limited clinical services, there is virtually no outside supports while the individual resides at home. In addition they usually can not refrain from their bingeing and purging, which leads them back into depression or substance abuse. It is here that a bulimic can receive stabilization while learning how to refrain from binge purge activities and cope with their cravings to do so.
